The Esquif Huron 15 is designed for cottagers and recreational canoeists looking for a rugged, versatile canoe for calm bodies of water and small rivers. It provides the dependable construction of a T-Formex canoe while offering a lower profile and lighter weight than the Prospecteur 15.
The Huron 15 is built from the same mold as the Prospecteur 15, but Esquif trims the hull to a lower 12.5-inch profile. This lower profile reduces weight and makes the canoe easier to paddle when conditions become breezy.
Easy to Paddle in Calm Water
The Huron 15 is optimized for recreational paddling on lakes, calm waterways and small rivers. Its shallow-arch hull provides a stable and predictable platform, while 2.75 inches of rocker provides enough maneuverability for exploring smaller rivers and winding waterways.
Solo or Tandem Versatility
The Huron 15 can be used as either a solo or tandem canoe, making it a flexible choice for recreational paddlers. Lightweight T-Formex Lite Construction
The Huron 15 uses T-Formex Lite construction, providing a rugged and impact-resistant hull while keeping the canoe’s weight to 51 pounds.
T-Formex is a laminated material consisting of an ABS foam core, ABS sheets and a protective outer plastic skin. Its resistance to abrasion and heavy impacts makes it well suited to recreational, whitewater and expedition canoes, while its structural memory allows the hull to return toward its original shape after impacts.
